Good Movie but not worth the hype

I saw Avatar in IMAX 3D. This story has been told many times (think Dances With Wolves or The Last Samurai) but some would say there are no original stories left to tell. The film is grand and definitely worth seeing. It is NOT, however, a transformative film that revolutionizes anything. In fact, the whole thing could have been done in straight CGI (as opposed to "Performance Capture") with the exact same results. thumbs up to Cameron for an entertaining film. Thumbs down to the media for all the hype.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
