First and foremost, the special effects are beyond amazing. The underlying love story and good vs. evil plot devices are classic and predictable, but while I knew I'd seen it all before, the dazzling visuals made it all seem somehow unique. The 3D effect was amazing at times and a bit distracting on occasion. Fortunately it was not abused to the point of making the film seem hokey. This is one I'll surely buy when it comes out in Blue-Ray so I can compare it with my recollection of the 3D experience. All in all, my time and money were well spent on this one.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
