A strong (and well implemented) case for 3d cinema

I hadn't watched an IMAX 3d movie for about 10 years, so I wasn't expecting TOO much. That being said, I was amazed at just how much you really feel IN the movie when watching Avatar in IMAX 3d. I can't imagine watching it any other way. I think it was heightened by the fact that your subject matter is an alien world, so you don't have any "real" world to compare it to. That, more than the story, acting, etc. really made you care about the characters, and get thoroughly engrossed in the whole experience. And that's what I'd say it is. Not so much a "movie", but more an experience. You truly feel a sense of loss when the whole ride comes to a close. I'd recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.
