Focus more on the science fiction and less on the romantic saga of life. The initial idea of moving through portal doors and being followed by some half angelic, half big brother oppositional forces was pretty cool. Then it's like, oh Emily Blunt is looking for some work, let's try and work her into this film. Heh heh. Damon is cool. He's always up for something new it seems. And Emily Blunt is very attractive and competent as an actress. Just, right time, wrong movie. I had fun though. Check it out.

Good flick. Good for current day Hollywood, and mild to good for older John Wayne- type westerns. It's hard to revisit that particular style of western when all technology and special effect has stolen the lead. Jeff Bridges is such a treat though. After Tron and now this, he is undeniably one of the best...ever!! Matt Damon makes his complimentable mark once again, showing yet more character versatility. And the young girl who ties it all together weaves a heartelt and strongminded performance about having guts and that hard to find 'true grit'!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I thought it was pretty good. I suppose I might like it more if it was PG-13, but overall pretty good. I liked the past and present bio of main character, I liked the look of the old shop the boy stumbles upon in movie beginning. Good storytelling atmosphere. Special effects were pretty neat but nothing mind-blowing. Plot overall was fun and entertaining. Cool villain, funny sidekick. Nicholas Cage did pretty good.
If you like a mildly-faced, entertaining good time, then check this one out.
