I was pleasently surprised to find this reboot of the franchise better than the original in several ways. First off, Jaden Smith is a better actor than the original kid. Second, Jackie Chan gives a real dramatic performance as the mentor. And finally, the cinematography was fabulous. Filming in China just added so much to the story. Can't wait for the sequal.
Contrary to several critic's reviews that I read online, I thought Iron Man 2 was was just as good as the first movie. The acting was very good, with Downey adding a bit more depth to the Stark charactor. Mickey Rorke was surprisingly good as well. The plot line is a bit of a cary over from the first movie, with a new thread that will eventually lead to Iron Man joining the Avengers.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Tim Burton's 'Alice' is a wonderful retelling of the classic tale. This is the first time I've seen a 3D movie in many, many years and it works great; even with my glasses. This is not our grandmother's 'Alice' to be sure. But, Depp is fantastic as the Mad Hatter, as is Carter as the Red queen. The 3D visuals are used to enhance the story line, and are not over the top. The plot and acting are very good, with a fast pace through out the film. The only negative I found was the makeup for the white queen, Anna Hathaway. It made one of the most beautiful women in films look like a zombie.
While this movie may disappoint die hard SH fans, it is an excellent updating of the legend. With lots of action and a great interpretation of the relationship between Holmes and Watson, this movie will bring a lot of the younger generation to the Holmes stories in print. Very good acting and superb cinematography make this an visual treat for all moive fans.
