In short, paying to see this in IMAX vs Digital 3D didn't justify the cost.
The first 2 visits I saw this in Digital 3D, 3rd time was here in IMAX. The IMAX film version had nice high action scenes with no blur, clearer 3D.
Comparing it with the Digital 3D, I was disappointed in the lack of 3D feeling but could have been because of sitting 3/4 from the screen in IMAX. The film was quite darker, the blacks were really black and dark and held no contrast. The colors felt less vibrant and full in IMAX. Also the IMAX glasses were huge and dug into the side of my head, fixed width. It's still a great movie, just had a much better experience in Digital.
