I saw this movie with my 25 year old daughters and we all agreed that the plot was as old as they were, the acting was at best uneven, and it was way too long. Take some Star Wars, Jurasic Park, GI Joe, and throw that in with the movie FernGully: The Last Rain Forest and you have this movie. However, the special effects were amazing and having seen the "making of" promos on tv, the CGI did render nuances of the live actors in a way unseen to date. The first hour and1/2 was entertaing, after that...we were all: let's just get to the part where this world is saved from the evil humans and be done with it! I would recommend it to friends, but only conditionally.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
