Good special effects

Avatar was enjoyable and it did not feel like 2 hours 40 minutes. I was entertained, but expected something more from the Best Picture winner at the Golden Globes. The special effects were stunning. Aside from the beautiful world created by Mr. Cameron, the story was very run of the mill. It has been done hundreds of times. There was no new message that hasn't been sent in many other movies. A great deal of the movie centered around the characters running around the forest and showing off the imaginative creatures. The story could have been told in under 2 hours. I would wait for video on this one.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Alvin and the Chipmunks The Squeakquel was a lot of fun and held the attention of both the kids and the adults in our party. The humor was fun without being gross. It sent a good message about how being the popular kid isn't always the best.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
