Good Acting - Soft Story

The super slueth of old is gone and replaced with a Jean Claude Von Dam type, as is his partner, Dr. Watson. The story line becomes very soft because of the unending violence accompanied by loud noise and music that overcame some of the dialog.
There is plenty of action in Sherlock Holmes (at times). Unfortunately, the attempt at making our hero a super slueth is fairly lame and the action mostly unbelievable.
Not a movie for true Sherlock Holmes mystery buffs. The acting is good, but that is the redeeming value for the film. I would not recommend it if there is another option. Too long, too noisy, bad sound, fair dialog and in general not that great. That sums up my impression (save your money).
