Fantastic Technology, unimaginative story

Saw this movie in Imax 3D. Marvelous technology! Beautiful images, action, etc. Primary means of knowing (or maybe not.)GCI characters vs. live ones was their very non-human traits and the severe action.
Story was a collection of movie cliches: much content taken from prior movies - the final battle is like the Ewoks vs. the Storm Troopers in The Return of the Jedi; dragon riders are hardly new; and the ritual of the natives after killing an animal is directly out of Last of the Mohicans. The characters are very one dimensional per the script -- greedy, heartless corporate dude and colonel way too hot to kill and destroy.
Lots of technical awards at the Academy Awards, but not for acting or for the script.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
