worth the IMAX price, despite weak story

My first 3D IMAX experience, and it was a good choice for the medium. The visuals definitely live up to the hype. The planet is stunning and really comes to life in 3D. You feel like you're actually THERE in this lush otherworldly jungle.
The predictable plot pushes a heavy-handed "environmentalism good/ capitalism bad" agenda and the story suffers from it. Still, it's a great ride up until the last third of the movie when characters start making incongruous decisions to stay in step with The Message. Our protagonist's "conversion" is only slightly more plausible than Anakin Skywalker's switch to the Dark Side.
All in all, well worth seeing in IMAX, even if only for the spectacular visuals.
