This is the best of the series as far as true faithfulness to the books. They took a convoluted book and made it linear on film. As a consequence, however, we spend a lot of time in the woods. (SPOILER ALERT) We don't get to see Luna's room, to which the girls in our group were looking forward. Overall, this is a great intermediary film; nothing is resolved. Can't wait for the rest of the chapter!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I saw Avatar on Blu-Ray the first time. It was beautiful, but the story didn't have continuity to be a good story. Then I saw the re-release in 3-D. Wow! The extra nine minutes fixed the problems with the story, and the picture was as wonderful as I knew it would be in 3-D.
