There's hype and then there's HYPE!
Inception is the latter IMO. It will, more than likely floor teens and twenty somethings. "The Best Movie EVER!!! types. God love them. This is not that movie. Good performances but no great ones. Clever story that is totally forgettable. Cool action and camera work but average CGI. Runtime really hurts it. A nice surprise is that Leo plays a pained, conflicted guy in this...err...never mind.

Lazy, unimaginative story

Brilliant visuals. Truly groundbreaking. Story comes off like an elementary school homework assignment. Sophomoric and predictable. Without the extraordinary visuals an easy 2-1/2 star effort.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
