More than a good 2 hour episode!!

I like this movie better than the last X-files movies. I thought this one was well crafted, had intense drama and a multilayered story. Of course, like the TV series what really shines is Mulder and Scully. Its an amazing mix of the thrill of the chase, mystery, interpersonal drama, some allusions to the X-files mythology, the paranormal and bite-your-fingernails tension. Billy Connolly (the priest) is exceptional as well. Its time for a re-watching of the series!!

From my point of view, what makes this movie great is the deep issues it deals with. The first and foremost issue for me was the connection between doing what's right and its effect on hope. We see the effect loss of hope has on people. The dialogue between joker and batman about playing by the rules is so relevant to law enforcement! Another easily missed theme was the connection between our choices and consequences for the chooser and others. On top of this heavy issues substrate lay outstanding acting, chair-gripping tension, breathtaking action and some cool stand-up-and-cheer heroics. And I must admit, having never been a big Ledger fan, his performance is oscar-worthy.

Great acting, fantastic action, rockin soundtrack and iron man just looks cool! Downey, Bridges and Paltrow are the backbone of the movie. Look for a guest appearance by a Rage Against the Machine member!
