I was asked if I would recommend this movie to a friend. My answer is "yes" and "no".
I saw this movie in 3D and it was visually entertaining, hence my "yes".
However, I found the story trite and preachy. Hence my "no". Also, the foul language was excessive and unnecessary.
The movie is nearly three hours long. The visual entertainment value for me wore off after about two and the story didn't carry me through to the end.
See it for its visual artistry, but take a puke bag if your not a flaming liberal.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
