The real life actors are second rate, but you get past that when the movie concentrates on the CGI characters. The plot is corny, last of the Mohicans meets Star Ship Troopers! The scenery is magnificent!
Will it change how we view movies? More than likely, from this day on all major movies will have to be shot in IMAX 3D. After that it will progress to supplant Blue Ray for home entertainment, 3D on your flat screen will be here soon enough. So to get a glimpse of the future, go see it
