The 3D experience is much, much better than the attempts that were made back in the fifties. With in seconds you forget that you are watching a flat screen projection and almost immediately put yourself into the scene. The story succeeds on several levels, although I thought the character development of the commanding officer and the corporate bully was a little overblown. This was a story of greed, racism, and community told with technical extravagance. There was no subtlety in the colonel's character, but he did make the point the writers wanted.
