Went in knowing it was supposed to be a tongue-in-cheek farse of the superhero movies, seeking to be more 'camp' like the Batman TV series of the 60's. I want my 2 hours and $39 (3 people at IMAX) back. It was like watching a BAD Will Farrell movie (is there any other kind?) but with the one redeeming feature of Farrell not being in it. Early Razzi nomination for worst movie of the year.
Visually stunning adventure. Cameron has created a world that draws you in in ways only like Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings did when they first came out.
BUT, the plot is blatently political, overly so. The story has been done a hundred times in movies like Little Big Man, Dances with Wolves, Lawrence of Arabia with some Lord of the Rings and Return of the Jedi thrown in. You'll swear you've seen the final battle scene before, almost frame by frame.
But still, it was good fun. See it in IMAX. Only way to see it.
