The 3-D IMAX experience took advantage of every opportunity to scare you about being in an unsafe place, off-balance and about to fall very far to the ground that was so far below it was shrouded in mist. In fact, that is my predominant memory of the movie. From flying straight down on a flying beast while hanging on to nothing or falling off a very high cliff and grasping a root by the finger tips, it was pretty real.
The war machines and the completely made up plants and animals were amazing.
Yes, I would recommend it to others but not so much for the story as the visual effects. The story had weak spots but who cares.
