Real Steel is that unique movie that combines truly spectacular special effects with the robot fight sequences, And genuinely emotional moments between a father and son, so it works on two levels. Wonderfully entertaining; a treat for the eyes and heart. Real Steel is the Real Deal!
Long & dark, but entertaining. I was a bit confused at the end because I was expecting to see scenes that are in the trailers, but obviously belong to part 2, which I didn't understand.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Our family enjoyed this movie for its entertainment value and unique approach with the double narrative ( He thought; She thought.) Fine performances by all the principals. Sort of an old-fashioned throwback kind of movie that you rarely see today. If you're a baby-boomer, there's a lot to relate to. Recommend it!
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! DiCaprio and Kingsley were outstanding! It drew us in and held our attention until the climactic twist at the end. Reminded us of another movie that had a similar plot twist, but won't say which one so as not to spoil it for anyone. Great escapist entertainment!
My 20-year old daughter and I had the same initial reaction; the storyline seemed Very similar to an animated movie called "Fern Gully"; remember that? Aside from that, the technology was impressive; the cgi & 3-D, et al. We both thought it was a bit too long, also; could've been trimmed about 15-20 minutes.
