I am really surprised at some of the bad reviews of this movie, it is one of the funniest movies I have seen lately. My wife and I laughed out loud throughout the whole movie. It pleasantly surpassed my expectations as a fun summer movie which we thoroughly enjoyed. No its not deep or meaningful, its not meant to be, its a lighthearted funny flick that doesn't take itself too seriously. If you want a little stress relief in the form of a few laughs, go see this movie. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
This movie was nothing like the synopsis and very disappointing as a result. This is another nihilistic Hollywood exploration of the dark side of man, there are no heroes, everyone is corrupt. What a sad view of life. How pathetic so many people feel this is an accurate portrayal of returning veterans and the "cost of war". Hollywood knows nothing of the current war and has no business making movies about it. Tobey Maguire is a good actor, but he should be ashamed of portraying a Marine as some sort of psycho imbued with terrorist tendancies. If you see this movie don't forget your anti-depressants, you'll need them.
