Great special effects, Boring story line

Mr. Cameron must have used the Irainian Marine Corps as advisers for this movie. The United States Marine Corps now and in the future will be professionals not a bunch of cowboys that would kill and pillage the natives.
I served in the Marine Corps during Vietman and I can tell you from first hand exprence that the image represented in this movie of a combat veteran is distorted and unwarranted. This image of combat veterans as sick mad dog baby killers is old hat, and a formula Hollywood has used in the past (1970's) to harm returning Vietman veterans, maybe Hollywood did not intented to harm, but it still injured many who returned from combat needing understanding and all Hollywood offered was a slap in the face.
