Why the left wing political tone?

Could have been a very good and entertaining movie but I couldn't get over the obvious attempt of portraying the US military as ruthless killers trying to destroy innocent people to get at their natural resources. Good grief, the messages some Hollywood elite try to get across are sickening. Why bring the US military in the movie at all? If the evil bad guys would have been made up with complete fiction, the movie would have been really good .
No, I do not recommend this movie.
