Avatar is technically superb but tediously preachy. It has all the usual cliches: noble savages, ruthless and evil capitalists (from a "dying" planet no less), mindless thugs fighting for the evil capitalists, environmental pillage etc, etc.
2 Stars with a oakleaf cluster for yawn factor.
Still, if you want to see a real wowy-zowy special effects movie, this will be right up your alley, and for that reason, I stil recommend seeing it.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
