There was so much hype about this movie that I guess I was bound to be disappointed. I found it slow at the beginning and though the actors were excellent, I did think the characters were bordering on cartoonish at times (especially the assistant)--although maybe that was the intention. And yes, this movie is super depressing on many levels. It is basically confirmation that it's not worth making yourself vulnerable to another person because you will inevitabley get hurt. The leads are funny and beautiful but the movie left me feeling empty, not engaged emotionally or intellectually.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
