Fantastic special effects-tired story line

I enjoyed this movie for what it is, ground breaking special effects. The story itself has been told so many times before; guy has his ideas and opinions. guy meets girl. girl changes his thoughts and opinions. guy turns his back on what he used to believe. Humans destroyed their own planet, now they are looking to colonize and pillage the resources of another (can you say "Independence Day"?). Out of the thousand or so humans on the planet, only 5 are good, righteous, and just, and the military is just plain bad for everyone. I suppose the story line could be best described as " Dances with Wolves" on another planet. I will probably buy the DVD because it is enjoyable, but it is not original.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
