Avatar doesn't deliver on hype

Good news first- stunning & jaw dropping visual effects.
Bad news- lacked a good story. Felt Avatar was a re-tread of Apocalypse Now & Dances with Wolves.
At least 20 minutes of the assault scenes could have been left on the editing floor with zero impact on the movie.
The marketing people for this movie violated an important principle- expectations were set so high, that even a truly revolutionary film release would have struggled.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
