I was absolutely blown away by the 3D and special effects of Avatar. The world is seamlessly created and breathtaking - at times when it switched back to the human scenes they struck me as mundane and boring and dimensionless. The plotline of the movie is predictable: high tech meets low tech; clash of cultures revealing the merits of the low tech and the heartless emptiness of the high tech that makes you root for the underdog.
But the execution of the story and the visual impact of the movie were fantastically done. It was refreshing as well to finally see a science fiction movie that did justice to science fiction and the scope available in the genre. Kudos to all involved!
