Left me gasping for breath ...

I am not one much for hyperbole, but my title says it all. I am also not normally affected by this type of thing and I am not sure if this was the 3D or just the intensity of the movie, but I was short of breath for a half hour afterward. The effects are intense and the storyline draws you in. A definite must see. If you can see it in IMAX, even better!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
