I have always been an appreciator of James Cameron films. He's gifted, talented and capable of great things. AVATAR is not one of them. This film was heavy handed, over- political, doctrine-driven, and difficult to stomach. Visually stunning? Yes. But I really took issue with glorifying video game worlds vs. reality. I'm all for enjoyment, but this movie had Mother Earth as God, humans as evil, government as destroyer and it just went way too far. Finally, the cliches were SO obvious---this was a retread of "Dances with Wolves, Tarzan, the final showdown of Aliens....disappointing to the extreme. I'll never get that $45 or 3 hours back. Not a fan.
