Superb 3D with a pro-environment plot...

Avatar represents the graduation of 3D from a mere gimmick and into a solid tool for the director. James Cameron has demonstrated how the effect can be a tool, like the soundtrack, to get the viewer even farther into the movie. See this one on the big screen; home equipment just won't do it justice.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
