Avatar is an epic, reminding me of the first Star Wars experience years ago. Indeed, some of the ideas seem to have been plucked right off the planet of Endor. But the story is unique, and the action is sufficient to overcome the length of the movie. See it in 3D and Imax, or it will shrink somewhat. Even the young children sitting around us seemed entranced until the end.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
