I found the performance excellent. Netrebko's Antonia was out of this world although she had said in interviews an stage actor who cries while performing is doing the best, it is imposible to sing while crying and hence singers have to stay on control of their emotions. How wonderful to see he she her contradict herself. Only two flaws: the erotic(?) aerobics performed during the barcarola, song that is a description of the movement of the gondolas in the water, and that in the Legacy place in Dedham where I saw the movie, there is a bowling alley next door and the rumbling came through several times, very bothersome. All of the cast, extraordinary. Should the MET make a DVD with this performance, I would buy it.
