Avatar will soon be legendary. It is the most unique and captivating movie I've ever witnessed. I did not just 'see' Avatar, I witnessed a movie that was hyper-realistic; the CGI scenes were more detailed than the live action shots (intentional or not?). As the movie progressed, Jake Sully's life as a paraplegic appeared unreal and his adventures with the Na'Vi became his new reality. This visual evolution was startling and unprecedented. At the end, Jake's Avatar even looked more realistic than it did in the beginning of the movie.
The story is multi-layered and accessible to many age groups. It is well told and is more than good enough to go along with the spectacular (never-seen-before) visuals to make AVATAR AN INSTANT CLASSIC.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
