For the first 45 minutes, we had little idea of what was going on. Then it became too obvious and there was no suspense. The setting in Venice was marvelous. We had just returned from Venice and saw many of the places we had just visited. I would give it a "7". Suggest you wait to see it on Netflix or cable.
The movie was difficult to understand in the beginning, however, after the first 45 minutes, one got the drift. All of the characters were not was they were portrayed in the previous Robin Hoods, which lent to the initial confusion. I sort of felt insulted when at the end, we were all set up for a sequel. Call it Part I, initially, if you most, but don't string the viewer along for the big letdown. Crow was good, his usual mumbling self. Sort of a dark movie also, in this age of vivid color in our homes, on our HD tvs,and all around us, I don't believe that the director accomplishes anything but annoyance by his failure to illuminate the scenes.
Sort of slow. Baldwin was good, Meryl Streep looked at least 10 years older that Baldwin. It was unrealistic. The part should have been given to a woman in her late fortys.
