The Imax 3D presentation of Avatar is a must. I almost feel sorry for anybody that sees it in just 3D, and god forbid 2D! The story is basically just a frame work for Cameron to display his digital magic. And he does...big time. I have to admit that the mo-cap characters have more humanity in them than most of the "live" performances. Zoe Saldana does the strongest work by far. I did notice thematic and visual references to Cameron's previous films, but The CGI accomplishments make it an original.
Anyone who loves movies should not deny themselves this cinematic feast!
