I've seen this movie twice now. The special efx are amazing and yes, while you have the regular Hollywood hero/love triangle, it worked. Even with John Cussack as the hero...I took some fiends with me the 2nd. time, who work in the industry and were a bit skeptical. They LOVED it!!! If you wait to see it on DVR, you'll miss so much. Amazing on the BIG screen!!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
