I had high hopes...

I had high hopes for this film when I walked into the theatre but sadly I left disappointed and my wallet 9 bucks thinner. Ninja Assassin is jam packed with more clichés than I thought possible. The story is something to be longed for and the agonizingly predictable love plot feels as if it were thrown in at the last minute. The shock factor of the gratuitous CGI gore wears off after the first 20 minutes. You soon realize that in this world ninja stars fly with greater accuracy than bullets and that the main character, Raizo, can kill the entire Ozunu Clan himself but apparently has never tried. If repetitive action with little to no satisfying plot is your cup of tea then by all means this film is for you.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
