Not what I expected

I was naively thinking that this movie would automatically hold the same appeal for me as an adult that the book did for me as a kid. Unfortunately I couldn't even remember how the book went, just that I liked it. What met me at the theater was a movie that was much darker, much murkier and much more violent that I had expected. Take the time to prepare yourself for what you're getting into and you'll probably get a lot more out of it. One major highlight was seeing the characters come to life, but that alone isn't enough to warrant a 5 star rating.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
