To begin with, the original is my all time favorite movie, so I was really excited to see this. However, now I wish I would have waited for the DVD! The "new" Freddy looks like a Halloween mask gone bad- It wasn't "more aunthentic to what a burn victim would look like" as the ads claimed. The plot was not changed, nor was it really updated. They took the original, and changed some of the names (i.e. Tina becomes Chris), sexed it up a bit with some more attractive actors/actresses, threw in some research on insomnia and sent it to the screen. Rather than create any realy fright, they set it up like a haunted house where things jump out and startle you, but in the end you end up laughing at them. The ending was entirely anti-climatic with very little creativity. Don't waste your money!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Really Cute Movie!

Both of my kids loved this movie. The story line was very sweet and the dragons were adorable. Be warned, however, there are some scary parts for younger children. The ending "fight" frightened both of mine, but they still loved the movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
