The first Ironman, is in my opinion, is the best superhero movie to date. I knew it would be tough to surpass it. I love CGI, but it can go over the top. Ironman 2 was pushing it! I think a third movie would be incredible! Plus, I can't wait for Thor!
That was 3 hours of my life that are lost forever! I like comic book movies, but that was worse than getting teeth pulled! The movie just stopped (no credits), and everyone bolted for the door. I don't know if that was the way it was supposed to be, but nobody seemed to care. The character development was too long and extremely boring. The effects were good, but that is about it!
I thought the movie was funny...but it missed the mark in my opinion. Did they have a script, or was that total improvisation? It seemed like there was no structure to the movie. I enjoyed the humor, which was a bit over the top at times.
After the first Hellboy, I was expecting really great things from this movie...wrong! The story line wasn't that great, and the CGI was way over the top. The true test of CGI is when you make the movie believeable, combining CGI and live action. The CGI overpowered the movie. The acting was great, but it was lost in the background.
The first hulk movie was pathetic! It started at the bottom of the hill and snowballed (which is not easy to do!). This one had a lot more character action, a better plot, etc. It even had Tony Stark leading the way for the Avengers movie! I thought it was very good!
I have seen all of the comic book movies, and most of them leave me cold. I was impressed with Batman Begins, the Spiderman movies and the Punisher. None of them come close to what I saw yesterday. Ironman is a perfect balance of CGI and live action, mixed with some light comedy. I felt drawn into the movie. I was also shocked when I saw Jeff Bridges with a bald head and a beard! Great casting, great movie!
