Chris Weitz improved on the action scenes and yet kept much of the corny/awkward feel from the first film. Also, while I had imagined Aro and Sam as being much older than the actors chosen, they did a superb job.
Lastly, while I am faithful to Edward as a character, I have to say that Taylor Lautner was HOT in this film. There were lots of times that I felt Edward's lips were a little too red and his makeup was too pasty. Taylor, on the other hand, should never put another shirt on ever again! All that work really paid off. He looks fantastic. The scenes between Jacob and Bella sizzled and I cannot wait to see more of that tension in Eclipse.
