Destroyed timeline for cheap buck

Having seen all the ads with a young Kirk, it would have been great to have new Star Trek movie that actually filled in the history of the early Kirk years, but instead throws the entire timeline out in prep for an obviously lucrative new franchise... Those early scenes? They're not of the James T. Kirk that we all know from the original series, but rather a young brat with typecast jock issues.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
