The acting was terrible, especially from Alice. The characters were flat. Jane wasn't scary at all. The truly emotional parts that made the book decent were missing. I realize that the book had a lot going on and the movie was really long even after they pared it down, but unfortunately it made the movie hollow and pointless. If I hadn't read the book, I'd have been a little lost. There's so much in the book that even in a 2hr10min movie, they had to jump from one thing to the next without filling in the "why should we care". Not that the book did a great job with that, but it made a valiant effort. This movie was better than the 1st though.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
