I thought this movie was great but I feel that if the movie was shortened by about 20 minutes (meaning taking out all of the unneeded, drawn out monolougues) the movie would've been even better. Chris Weitz did great things with this movie; I never expected the special effects to look so real! But like one of the other reviewers said, there were a couple of cheesy romantic scenes that kind-of took away from the movie... And one final comment; Jacob Black is supposed to be cocky, mean, an a**hole with a bunch of attitude added on top of that, and I feel that Taylor Lautner could've done a better job of portraying that. Other than that his acting was fine, just needs to learn to be a tad bit more mean. But loved the movie!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
