Better than the book....

The on screen translation actually exceeded my expectations as a nostalgic fan of the Twilight series. I've lived in both areas (Phoenix and Forks) long before the novels were around and thank Stephanie Meyer for bringing the beauty to everyone else.
As this is the most emotionally centered of the four novels, I was concerned in how the transformation to screen from page would've been done. Chris Weitz (director) did a more true to the novel version than I had expected after having seen Twilight as directed by Catherine Hardwick. Not saying that she hadn't established the characters well, but New Moon was more true to what Stephanie Meyer had put on the page.
This is definitely worth seeing in the theatre...I was not disappointed.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
