I think this series benefited greatly by changing directors. The first movie had a lot of cheesy corny lines, whereas this one didn't have nearly as much. Yes Taylor Lautner took his shirt off more than he probably needed to, but then again, it wasn't bad to look at. I think this series will appeal more to those who read the books. When you have the extra insight on the characters, the little quirks that a non-reader may pin as bad acting/directing is actually a great portrayal of who the characters really are and the awkwardness of the situation. I hope the next movies are just as amazing, if not better.
