Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would be proud of the screenwriters, director, the sets, costumes and certainly the actors. Even if you don't know who Holmes and Watson are you will find a wonderful who-done-it in Old England. I look forward to any sequel. Downey, Jr., Law, McAdams, and the whole supporting cast are wonderful.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

maybe a video rental

I'm a fan of Johnny Depp & Christian Bale but this was an average film about a gangster in the 30's that has been done many times before without anything new. It would be a good video rental and in itself was a good 'movie'. This should not have been the anticipated 4th of July blockbuster we have become used to and maybe it would be received better.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Watchmen - watchout

we were all four of us were surprised at Marvel for allowing this to be released as it was and letting drag on so long. there are some very good special effects but the story is not cohesive,many scenes could have done without. Though as you sit for the nearly 3 hours movie, you can follow along. We all agreed we would recommend friends to save their money and wait for the DVD rental. This is not like other Marvel releases.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
