My husband saw this movie before I did and thought it was one of the best movies ever. I went to see it with him later, and had mixed feelings. While I thought the film was good, I was conflicted about the diversions from canon. I watched all of the original series shows multiple times, so this was a bit of a shakeup.
But once I adjusted to the premise, I decided that I really liked it, and I've seen it three times. Zach Quinto (Spock) and Karl Urban (McCoy) just nailed it. The development of the relationships (old and new) was great. I can't wait for the sequel.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

True to the x-men movies

I really liked this movie. I thought that it tied well to the x-men movies, and was pretty consistent there. The story line was good, the characters well played. I definitely recommend seeing this to anyone that liked the other x-men movies.
