Contrary to many of the reviews I've seen posted, I thought this was a good movie.
(Thankfully, I didn't use reviews as my decision making)
I was on the edge of my seat from about 10 minutes in almost until the end.
My only concern was the association of 2012 with the title. In fact it's really a modern day version of a Noah's Arc movie, including the animals.
Despite this obvious similarity, in my opinion, it's not a religious movie in any way -- unless you count ALL religions!
